Are those for school? We are forbidden from bringing homemade snacks to school. As a parent of a child with a food allergy, I understand. As someone who loves to bake, I hate it! Happy #6, Sister!

Well, I decided not to ask about the homemade goods policy because it's practically impossible to find bakery goods that aren't cross-contaminated with peanuts and/or tree nuts. So I just showed up with the homemade cupcakes and nobody said anything. ?? She had a great birthday, by the way.

Proffered amendment: unless living in Indiana or points south, in which case one should never, ever aim for a July baby. Upon discovering that one will most likely give birth in July, move at once to a much, much cooler place. The shore of Lake Superior comes to mind.

I accept the proffered amendment from the lady from The Township. How quickly a transplanted midwesterner can forget the discomfort of hot weather. Yes, the temperate climate here has dulled my memory. Having been more than once very pregnant in summer months myself may I suggest The Township as one of my favorite places to play the beached whale?
